The Ployground community guidelines

These guidelines apply to everyone in the Ploy Slack community. Please follow them when posting in channels or messaging other members.

Use an identifiable profile

Before posting:

  • Use your real name.
  • Add a profile photo.
  • Include your company and role when relevant.

Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a company.

Post with purpose!

Use the channel that best matches your topic. Read the channel description and pinned messages before posting.

  • Keep questions specific and include enough context for others to respond.
  • Reply in threads when continuing an existing discussion.
  • Do not post the same message in multiple channels.
  • Do not repeatedly repost a message to move it back to the top of a channel.
  • Do not derail discussions with unrelated promotion or requests.

Moderators may move or remove posts that are off topic, repetitive, or posted in the wrong place.

Be respectful

Critique ideas, products, and work without attacking the person behind them.

The following are not allowed:

  • Harassment, threats, or targeted abuse
  • Discrimination or hateful content
  • Personal attacks or deliberate provocation
  • Sharing explicit, illegal, or harmful content
  • Repeated disruption after a moderator has asked you to stop

You can disagree with someone. Keep the discussion focused on the topic and do not attack the person.

Share context with links

You may share products, services, events, resources, and content when they are relevant to the channel and useful to the discussion.

When sharing something you are connected to:

  • State your relationship to it.
  • Explain why it is relevant.
  • Include useful context rather than dropping a link by itself.
  • Follow any channel-specific posting rules.

Unsolicited advertising, repetitive self-promotion, lead generation, and mass outreach are not allowed.

Use DMs appropriately

A relevant 1:1 follow-up is fine. Do not use direct messages for unsolicited sales or marketing.

Do not:

  • Send bulk or automated direct messages.
  • Add members to mailing lists without permission.
  • Send repeated sales messages after someone declines or does not respond.
  • Request passwords, authentication codes, payment information, or other sensitive data.
  • Use information from Slack to target members outside the community without their consent.

Protect private information

Do not share another member’s personal information, private messages, customer data, internal work, or confidential material without permission.

Use care when opening links, downloading files, accepting invitations, or granting access to a workspace or account. Report suspicious requests instead of engaging with them.

No spam, scams, or manipulation

The following may result in immediate removal:

  • Spam or coordinated promotional activity
  • Scams, phishing, or deceptive links
  • Impersonation
  • Attempts to compromise an account, device, or business
  • Attempts to evade moderation or return after removal

Report a problem

Contact a Ploy community admin in Slack if you see a guideline violation or suspicious activity.

Include:

  • A link to the message or profile
  • A screenshot, if relevant
  • A short description of what happened

Do not start a public callout or share private details in a channel. Send the information directly to an admin for review.

Enforcement

Ploy community admins may remove content, issue a warning, restrict participation, or remove a member. The response will depend on the severity and frequency of the behavior.

Serious violations may result in immediate removal without prior warning. Moderator decisions are final.

Ploy may update these guidelines as the community and its channels change.
